The welding team is focused on manufacturing, specifically permanently attaching critical steel components to each other. The team’s responsibilities include training new PRE members to create a core group of on-demand welders, initially on Princeton University MAE Machine Shop’s TIG welder PRE’s. The team also plans to eventually procure, set up, and learn MIG welding with our own equipment for completely in-house welding. Current efforts are focused towards finishing the chassis, steering column supports, suspension tabs, suspension A-arms, low-voltage grounding tabs, firewall/seat/suspension mounting points, but the list will likely grow as more components are finished!
