Following a year of high turnover on the team, we decided to take a one-year hiatus from the Formula Hybrid Competition to refocus our efforts on the onboarding and development of our new members. With the goal of preparing our small, but driven membership to become future leaders of our organization, we created a curriculum that introduced our engineering design processes, analyzed our existing vehicle systems and documentation, and created opportunities for our members to take leadership positions to experience and develop leadership skills. Furthermore, in working on the research and design of systems including the chassis, suspension, signal isolation circuitry, and regenerative braking, we grouped new members with returning members to foster the transfer of knowledge and establish new connections and mentorship relationships within our team. We also introduced weekly check-in meetings to provide progress updates and ensure that our team became comfortable working with other members despite working on different projects.

These efforts allowed us to transfer knowledge of design and leadership to a new, larger group of members and helped to prepare them to become the future leaders of Princeton Racing Electric when we return to the Formula Hybrid Competition in 2021.
